NASA's
KSNN - NASA'a Kids Science News
Network is a standards-based program that uses the Web, animated characters
(grades K-2), and video (grades
3-5) to introduce science, technology, engineering, math, and NASA
concepts.
Kids
Astronomy - Astronomy can be one of the most exciting units
you teach. Few subjects offer you so much versatility covering many areas
such as History, Physics, Geology, Geography, Art, and much more. Most
importantly the children enjoy learning about Astronomy. It is fun for
children, because it stretches their imaginations forcing them to contemplate
the stars, nebula and planets. KidsAstronomy.com encourages teachers to
take time in preparing lesson plans that will inspire children to want
to learn more. (Grades
2 - 12)
Kids
Astronomy Academy - Welcome to
the Student Center for Independent Learning! Astronomy
Course 1 for ages 7 - 11, and Course 2
for ages 12 - 18. All Assignments
and printable test forms are included in this site. Great site for independent
learners/homeschoolers!
Windows
to the Universe Windows to the Universe
is a user-friendly learning system covering the Earth and Space sciences
for use by the general public. Windows to the Universe has been in development
since 1995.This internet site includes a rich array of documents, including
images, movies, animations, and data sets, that explore the Earth and Space
sciences and the historical and cultural ties between science, exploration,
and the human experience. The site is appropriate for use in libraries,
museums, schools, homes, and the workplace. Students and teachers may find
the site especially helpful in their studying (and teaching!) Earth and
Space sciences. The site is written in three reading
levels approximating elementary, middle school and high school reading levels.
These levels may be chosen by using the upper button bar of each page of
the main site.
Exploring
Planets in the Classroom - More
than 25 hands-on science activities are provided in classroom ready pages
for both teachers and students for exploring Earth, the planets, geology,
and space sciences. Includes vulcanology, impact craters, gradation, and
remote sensing. (Grades 3 - 12)
Earth
& Sky - Earth and Space radio programs,
activities, teachers' page. (Grades 3 - 12)
The
Galileo Project - Information on
the life and work of Galileo Galilei (1564 - 1642) and the science of his
time. (All grades)
How
Stuff Works - Click "Science
Stuff" to access this remarkable site's extensive science resources.
Categories listed in those resources include earth science, life science,
space. Each category offers many individual tutorials that clearly and completely
explain the particular topic. Constantly updated and extended, this site
will provide you and your students with the most current information on
any researched topic. (For all grades)
The
Physics Classroom - A truly awesome
physics resource for high school students. This site provides 11 tutorials,
each containing from two to six individual lessons on a variety of basic
physics concepts -- including newton's Law; work, energy, and power; momentum
and its conservation; waves; and more. Clear and well written, using animations
to illustrate the concepts. Each tutorial concludes with a quiz to test
understanding. If you're teaching or taking Physics, don't miss this site!
(Grades 11+)
For
Kids Only - Earth Science Enterprise and
Earth
Science Educators' Site will help you to inspire the next
generation of Earth explorers. The program sponsors educational activities
at all levels of formal and informal education to provide opportunities for
learners to investigate Earth system processes using unique NASA resources
as they progress through the academic pipeline and continue on their individual
paths of lifelong learning. (All Grades)
Virtual

Division and funded in part by Aviation Operations Systems and the Aerospace
Education Coordinating Committee this site is designed for use by classroom
and homeschool teachers as well as all aviation enthusiasts. Explore the world
of air traffic management and learn more about NASA research in aviation operations
systems and aviation safety. (Grades 9 - 12)
Our
Earth as Art - View our planet through
the beautiful images taken by the Landsat - 7 satellite and the TERRA Satellite's
Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER). This
gallery of images uses the visceral avenue of art to convey the thrilling
perspective of the Earth that only satellites can provide.
